Advantages of the LAB technology
The LAB technology operates with a suction/pressure conveying system and offers amongst others the following advantages:

1. Metering and materials handling in one operation

The LAB EU patent allows the simple and fast metering of bulk materials.
The individual bulk materials are withdrawn from the container in an unproblematic pouring-out process (i.e. without forming bridges, funnels or lumps), and are simultaneously roughly and precisely metered in one and the same operation.

Advantages:

- Due to the patented technology, high investments in pressure sluices and metering screws and their high maintenance costs are avoided.
- The bulk materials are sucked from the different withdrawal options. This vacuum system allows the almost complete withdrawal of residual bulk material quantities from the container. This is of particular advantage when the empty big bags are undocked.

2. The vacuum system prevents the formation of dust

In contrast to pressure extraction equipment, vacuum extraction equipment prevents the bulk material from leaking out in case of any conveying pipe leakage.

Advantages:

- The occurrence of a dangerous situation due to dust formation or gas leakage is prevented. In case of any conveying pipe leakage, merely a power loss occurs.
- No CO² is required for weighing the components in the vacuum system. Therfore, there is no need for expensive CO² control systems.

3. Minimum CO² consumption during the batch transfer

In the present field of application, the filter aid must be supplied to the mixing tank by means of CO².
In an online process, the LAB technology conveys the dry components which have already been weighed in the vacuum system (below the water surface) into a mixing tank. The transport is performed by means of CO².

Advantages:

- Since the formula consisting of different components has already been prepared in the vacuum system,
approximately 3 to 4 minutes are required to transfer a quantity of 100kg to the mixing tank.
- The CO² consumption required for this conveying process is minimized and only amounts to a fraction of that of a complete pressure conveying process from the containers.

4. Environmental relief and cost reduction

Advantages:

- 68% cost savings with regard to CO² in comparison with a conventional pressure conveying system
- CO² reduction is advantageous for the environment.
